Since 1 January 2015, a statutory minimum wage has been in effect in Germany with the aim of strengthening the autonomy of all collective bargaining parties and ensuring adequate working conditions for employees. The minimum wage legislation (MiLoG) currently stipulates a nationwide gross minimum wage of 8.84 euros per clock hour.
