Artists with disabilities are becoming increasingly visible in Europe's cultural landscape - on stages, in exhibitions, at festivals, and in international exchange programs. However, the structural conditions for their international mobility, performance practices, and professional equality are often marked by barriers. Artists with disabilities who travel for work have to deal with a wide range of issues: from access to funding and barrier-free travel to legal protection, assistance organizations, and medical care.
This module offers guidance for traveling artists with disabilities, their production partners, and institutions and event organizers who invite artists with disabilities. It contains information on travel, assistance, administrative issues such as social security, taxes, insurance, funding opportunities, and existing support structures. This highlights opportunities for independent and professional work at home and abroad and increases planning security.
